rollin_on_web_2009010.jpg
TrailerChix, a lifestyle e-magazine focuses on the millions of women who aspire to live in  small footprints without giving up glamour and elegance, will kick off their viewer interactive 14 -day trip in Lund, Canada, on Aug. 21 and will end in Hollywood, Calif. along Highway 101 on Sept. 5.

Four editors from TrailerChix, with the help of
their video production crew, will provide valuable ideas, demonstrate galley culinary skills and show some design ideas for the small living, according to Shelah Jahnson, creator and editor in chief.

"RV living's popularity is growing for the 34 to 54 year-old age group and this group wants more style" said Johnson. "They want more opportunities to be their authentic selves,". "Also, we are seeing an increase in full-timers living year round in travel trailers, tiny houses, floating homes and sail boats - anything that supports our growing eco and social sensitivities. These small footprints give people a much needed sense of freedom and independence.
Our goal is to show them you can live a great style while living green."

Man hospitalized after apparently driving RV into garage
rollin_on_web_2009008.jpg
A man is being hospitalized after apparently driving an RV through the garage at his home Friday night.

The Tan colored Allegro RV remained half in and half out of the carport area of the home.
The roof of the RV appeared gutted as it apparently crashed into the roof of the home. The RV roof appeared to be intact but the interior of the driver's side of the vehicle was totally encompassed by wood, glass and debris.

The same thing happend just down the block from this accident a couple of months ago when an 87 year old man and his wife were pulling into their carport when the driver hit the gas instead of the brake.
An RV got trapped in a Santa Maria mall parking lot
rollin_on_web_2009007.jpg
One driver in Santa Maria today found out the hard way its important to pay attention to clearance signs in parking lots.

A mini Toyota camper truck wedged itself in
the south parking structure of the mall.

Officers and firefighters had to flatten the tires of the camper to get it out. A nearby repair shop then had to put on new tires.

There is a sign that says how much clearance the structure has, but apparently being spring the driver didn't notice it. No damage was done to the structure.

Is This Really a Truck Camper?
rollin_on_web_2009001.jpg
Article from Truck Camper news
It's hard to believe looking at the interior photo, but this is a truck camper. It wasn't to long ago that truck campers offered very cramped quarters. Then, the first slide-outs debuted, usually extending from the dinette, and that changed the game. Suddenly, it was possible to take a few steps without hitting a wall or cabinet.

This 2011, 11-foot, six inch Everest

model from Host Campers has three slide outs, one on each side and one in the rear. The results is a living space comparable to that of a modest-sized motorhome.

The storage tanks are bigger than on most Class C motorhomes,  70 gallons of fresh water and 38 gallons of both grey water and black water. Both the dinette and couch at the rear convert to beds, making this compact unit suitable for a family.
